Chapter 7
In chapter 7, the story starts off by saying that it is very hot outside. From the previous chapters, we have learned that when it is raining and cold, the mood is awkward. But when it is hot, we can conclude that the mood is warm and perhaps Gatsby and Daisy are getting too close. During the begining ofthe chapter, Tom is very suspicious of Daisy and Gatsby and thinks he knows what is going on. We also find out many thingsthat we did not previously know about Gatsby like his real name, his college years, and his background. Tom uses this to insult Gatsby and ultimately wins the fight between himself and Gatsby when Daisy says that she loved Tom.
